Post-Black/Post-Hardcore/Avantgarde Artist LUCYNINE Drops New Single & Video ‘Oltre La Soglia’ Off Upcoming Album ‘Melena’

The Italian post-black/post-hardcore/avantgarde artist LUCYNINE has released the new single Oltre La Soglia, taken from the new album Melena out on October 3rd via Talheim Records Germany.

Oltre La Soglia is about a man left without any sentimental ties, who therefore has nothing left to lose and transforms his frustration into violent anger, self-affirmation and self-love. The sound merges post-black metal with punk hc, crust punk, and synthwave. The desperate and screaming vocals (in Italian) are kept very inside the mix, to give an idea of claustrophobia and oppression. The song ends with a slow and heavy breakdown. Watch the video here:

The new album by LUCYNINE was born in a few months, very spontaneously, as the result of an almost physiological necessity. The album was born in a period of acute personal malaise, as an intimate and brutal expression of this desperation.

The visceral need to communicate his personal unease involved not only the composition and writing of the lyrics (first time completely in Italian), but also the stylistic choices in the production: the sound is claustrophobic, the vocal line is kept very underneath, as if it was suffocated by the wall of sound that subjugates it, the immoderate use of the compressors dries all the possible air out.
