Cyprus-based prog epic metal band OCCULT KENJI has dropped a visualizer video dedicated to the track King Nothing, taken from the new album Of Gods And Ancestors, set to be released on October 7th via Thalassocracy Records:
King Nothing begins with a solid, rhythmic verse, before surprises with an atmospheric, emotionally impactful chorus. The 3/4 section showcases a heavy, slightly progressive sound, lending great balance and elegance to the entire song. King Nothing, as all the other tracks, sees the participation of Moonspell’s drummer Hugo Ribeiro.

With the release of Drunkard Chronicles and Eis Mnemen, the band directed attention to raw energy and thematic depth. The upcoming album, Of Gods And Ancestors, expands this vision, diving into Bronze Age myth, poetic sacrifice, and eternal memory, with a sound that is equally aggressive, emotional and immersive. With this new release, the band aims to captivate its audience in a dark and musical storytelling experience. Of Gods And Ancestors is a 3,500 year historical ride, focusing on 7 unique stories bound to the Eastern Mediterranean. The blend of harsh and clean vocals ensures that no emotion remains untouched.
OCCULT KENJI is a metal band blending mythological storytelling with diverse heavy metal subgenres. Its music explores ancient histories, dark legends, and forgotten gods, weaving brutal and clean vocals with atmospheric soundscapes. Formed with a vision to merge Mediterranean heritage and metal music, the project is carving out a unique place in the underground scene. The band was formed in 2018 as a one-man project of musician and author, Marios Michaelides (Daggr, MethysOs), following the hiatus of his previous band. Marios is not new to the scene. He has been releasing music with bands since 2012, and has previously supported on stage, household names like Mnemic, Grave Digger, Jag Panzer, and Uriah Heep.
