Venice’s orchestral blackened death metal act OBSCURA QALMA will release their new full-length “Immortality Through Ashes” on October 23rd via Dusktone. The new effort is anticipated by the song “Obsidian Numen,” available as a digital single on the main streaming services as well as visualizer video on YouTube.

“Immortality Through Ashes” explores the agony of unexpressed potential - the quiet tragedy of carrying wisdom, art, and truth inside ourselves that we fail to share with the world. When the struggle to unleash that craft feels overwhelming, we are tempted by dark alternatives.
“Obsidian Numen” is the shadow that meets us when we falter: the toxic tools, bad choices, and dark compromises we accept when we refuse the grueling path of genuine creation. It is the easy way out, and a debt that will inevitably be paid in full.
“Immortality Through Ashes” is the second full-length album from OBSCURA QALMA and the band’s second release on Italian label Dusktone, following the 2024 EP “Veils Of Transcendence.” Building on their signature orchestral blackened death metal, the album pushes the band’s sound into darker, more expansive territory, incorporating elements of deathcore, industrial metal, technical death metal, and blackgaze.
Conceptually, “Immortality Through Ashes” unfolds across eight chapters exploring the meanders of the human condition. Drawing inspiration from the works of Goethe, Kant, and Baudelaire, the album reimagines the figure of Faust through a contemporary lens, confronting themes of desire, transcendence, suffering, egoism, and pride. The album also features a guest appearance from Joe Sinclair, former vocalist of UK metal act She Must Burn, on the track 'Hollow Bastion'.

Biography:
Born in Venice in 2018, OBSCURA QALMA blends the urgency of death metal with majestic orchestral composition and philosophical lyrical themes. In 2019, the band released their first EP, 'From The Sheol To The Apeiron', and began touring across Europe. In 2021, they released their first full-length album, 'Apotheosis', followed in 2022 by the orchestral version, 'Soundtrack To Apotheosis'. In 2023, the band released 'From The Apeiron', which contained the orchestral versions of the first EP plus orchestral tributes. In 2024, the band signed with Dusktone for two releases, the first being the EP 'Veils Of Transcendence'. In 2025, the band released 'Aiwass', which contained every orchestral composition by the band to date. In 2026, with many releases and shows across 15 European countries under their belt, Obscura Qalma released 'Immortality Through Ashes', their second release with Dusktone. The new album blends their characteristic orchestral blackened death with deathcore, industrial, technical death metal and blackgaze influences.
