While the first two tracks “Dominion” and “Ascension” narrated the cult dedicated to serving Abysma and its awakening, centuries passed in the third song “War March”. Here Abysma's immortal empire goes for war, leaving behind a legacy of destruction and despair that echoes through the ages. In the final track, “Nightmares,” the aftermath and the call of Abysma resound once more, drawing souls into her realm of darkness and torture for eternity. Through these interconnected stories, “Ravenous Abyss” invites listeners to immerse themselves in a world of macabre beauty.
At the heart of the Indian Ocean, where turquoise waters meet white sandy beaches, the dark sound of ABYSMAL OCEANS emerges from the depths of tropical islets. Contrary to its idyllic surroundings, Maldivian black metal transcends geographical expectations, diving deep into themes of dark oceanic forces and spiritual destruction. Led by visionary figures, Occultus Monolith, Unholy One, and Usham Demoriel, “Ravenous Abyss” challenges perceptions of the genre with its raw aggression, driven by Krzysztof Klingbein's thunderous drumming.
“Ravenous Abyss” was mixed and mastered by George Nerantzis, known for his work with iconic metal acts like Abbath and Dark Funeral.
