Legendary Guitarist ANDRE CORBIN (former HELSTAR member) Releases New Track “War Drums” With Own MONSTER KILLER Project!

For many fans of power metal with a neoclassical flair, the name ANDRE CORBIN will evoke memories of fast melodic riffing, enchanting harmonies, and that very distinctive sound that the guitarist contributed to create in HELSTAR’s albums “A Distant Thunder” (1988) and “Nosferatu” (1989) - the most highly acclaimed works from the band's extensive catalogue to this day.

In 1987 Andre moved from Houston to Los Angeles to join Helstar, who were already in the process of signing with Metal Blade Records. Soon in the studio with producer Bill Metoyer at the helm, Helstar recorded their 3rd album “A Distant Thunder,” which was released in 1988 followed by a European tour.

Upon returning to the US, per the labels request, the pre-production efforts began for what would become the “Nosferatu” album. Low moral lead to issues within the band, and soon Andre left the band along with drummer Frank Ferreira to pursue something different. The coming decade was too much of a struggle, and by the mid 90s, Andre had enough, and just walked away from music altogether. ANDRE CORBIN disappeared from the public, and even quit playing guitar for many years.

ANDRE CORBIN is now ready to come back in full force. He has been writing and recording for his new MONSTER KILLER project, with the first new songs he has made public since 1989. Featuring amazing Greek vocalist Tasos Lazaris (One Machine, Savage Grace) and Italian drummer Fabio Alessandrini (Annihilator, Bonfire), Andre is currently playing all guitars, bass, and keyboards.
