Swiss stoner heads GENTLE BEAST are back with their first release in 3 years with “Toxic Times” from their upcoming self-titled album. Psychedelic fuzz-powered stoner riffs mixed with underlying catchy melodies, “Toxic Times” takes the listener through on a heavy, psychedelic ride that is fitting for the pandemic-paralyzed, war-torn state of the earth. The song cunningly maneuvers through subjects such as power, exploitation, greed, and inner conflicts. GENTLE BEAST pull a “Weekend at Bernie’s” with one of their members in the music video of “Toxic Times”. While staying true to the band’s stoner rock roots, the video features an absurd yet entertaining storyline involving a tragic death, a burial with beer, a wild chase through the woods, violent threats of death, and signals a significant line-up change. Watch the music video of “Toxic Times”:
“Toxic Times” was mixed and mastered by Alberto de Icaza at Red Nova Ranch, Texas, USA. GENTLE BEAST was founded in 2017 as a band full of loud, deep fuzz guitars, and scratchy bass sounds. They grew together and wrote songs inspired by different rock genres, never forgetting that stoner rock will be the ultimate goal. In 2019 they released their first record as a 7inch called “Hit the Spliff” and also made a crazy music video.
