Vienna-based heavy psych rock band LAZER presents their new album “Far Away,” released on March 4th on vinyl and digital via StoneFree Records.
With their debut album “Far Away,” LAZER sets out to carve their name into the ever-expanding landscape of modern psychedelic rock. From the very first moment the needle touches the vinyl, the band makes their artistic intention clear: this is an album conceived as a cohesive journey, a record guided by a strong narrative thread that pulls the listener into the band’s sonic universe.

Pulsating synthesizers and modulating guitars open the door into a world where heavy, riff-driven passages coexist with shimmering psychedelic melodies. The band’s aesthetic moves effortlessly between raw power and atmospheric depth, balancing thunderous grooves with moments of introspective calm. It is precisely this contrast that defines LAZER’s sound - a space where towering guitar riffs collide with expansive textures and emotional storytelling.
Recorded in Vienna, Austria, the album was captured by guitarist Lukas Klingseisen in the band’s own studio, a setting that allowed the group to patiently shape the music they had carried in their heads for years. Every layer of sound was carefully crafted to reflect the band’s vision of Heavy Psych Rock: immersive, organic, and rich in detail. The recordings were later mixed and mastered by longtime friend and collaborator Thomas Pröschl, whose careful touch polished the raw material into its final, powerful form.
Throughout “Far Away,” the band demonstrates an instinctive understanding of tension, dynamics, and atmosphere. The interplay between the musicians is both precise and intuitive, weaving together elements of psychedelic, stoner, and progressive rock into a cohesive whole. Towering riffs, hypnotic rhythms, and spacious melodies create a sonic palette rich with color and depth, revealing new layers with every listen.
Ultimately, “Far Away” is more than a debut album - it is an invitation into LAZER’s world. A record that balances heaviness with emotion, power with atmosphere, and immediacy with depth. By expanding the expressive possibilities of Heavy Psych Rock, LAZER delivers an album that lingers long after the final note fades. And as the needle lifts from the vinyl, the urge to place it back at the beginning becomes almost irresistible.
