SANDFINGER: Stream New Track “Welcome” Off Upcoming EP “Minus Illusion”!

International thrash metal band SANDFINGER has recently announced the release of its new EP “Minus Illusion,” set on May 2nd. Today the quintet shares a new foretaste from the album with the song “Welcome,” available as a visualizer video on YouTube. Stream it here:

“Welcome” is about how life seems to get worse as you get older, and follows the protagonist attempting to find happiness when they don't even know what it is anymore. Upon their deathbed they want to believe that they had a good life.
SANDFINGER is an international thrash metal project formed by guitarist Markus Öhrlich. Foundations were laid when in 2023 he sent a couple of songs to ANNIHILATOR drummer Fabio Alessandrini. Following, Öhrlich again teamed up with guitarist Vitaliy Kozubenko, with whom he had cooperated on 2 albums and an EP for alternative thrashers Konvolted. Attempting to make SANDFINGER’s sound different while maintaining the genre, Öhrlich concentrated on classic style in songwriting, leaving out groove and alternative influences, whilst Kozubenko settled his solos in the harmonic and polyphonic fields of the early 90s. Markedly different for sure it became with the addition of Death Metal singer Icanbefree and the choice to have the lyrics in his native tongue Japanese.
