The alternative gothic metal one-man band KAHRMALIA has released his first own song, after debuting with the reinterpretation of A-ha’s “Here I Stand And Face The Rain” a few weeks ago. The song is called “Mysteria” and is now available on the main digital platforms as well as a visualizer video - watch it here!
“Mysteria” anticipates the key elements that will make of his debut album - the release of which will take place soon - a step forward and a new vision of the gothic genre: not only ethereal vocals, but also down-tuned guitars, extreme double bass drum, and groovy parts.
The mastermind Gabriel Cavazzini explains what is the meaning behind the song:
“Mysteria" is a song that talks about the spiritual battle that we are called to fight every day. The difficulties of our life path always challenge us. “Mysteria” is abandoning oneself to the unknown, while observing the horrors of the world, but with the strength to invoke a shield so as not to fall into the abyss of human stupidity“
KAHRMALIA was born in 2020 from an idea of Gabriel Cavazzini, ex guitarist of the blackened death metal band Dominance. During the pandemic period, he felt some extreme sonorities further away. The long period of inactivity helped him to bring back a more melancholy, reflective yet intense vein, now far from the blackcore outbursts of the now ex-band.
Hence the need to give birth to a new project, no longer made of a classic 5-piece line-up; Gabriel decided to be fully devoted to KAHRMALIA, alone, dedicating himself to the songwriting, arrangements, up to giving voice to the songs. We can therefore define it as a one man band.
Gabriel aims to bring to the light new feelings hidden for too much time; KAHRMALIA is a project without musical barriers, ranging from alternative metal/rock, moving on to sometimes more "incisive" moments, to arrive at nostalgic, ethereal, almost doom-like atmospheres.
