Italy-based Groove Metal band DOSGAMOS is proud to reveal a new video for the song “Sightseeing”, taken from the full-length “Wrapped Renaissance” released on December 2.
Watch the video on the band’s YouTube channel:
In the video of “Sightseeing”, a man covered by the sheets of those newspapers that spread the news dictated by the systems of power, helplessly watches the show that none of us would like to see. It's a show that reminds us of our failures, the thirst for power and the delusion of omnipotence that pervades our society. Nuclear explosions, animals created in the laboratories, hungry people, corrupt politicians are the main characters of this sad show, which reminds us of our most miserable side. The video, admirably created by Milarevan, recovers the juxtaposition technique seen in videos such as Metallica's “Enter Sandman” and gives us a hallucinatory collage of modern times, leaving a glimmer of hope only at the end of the video, which you are invited to discover.
The songwriting of the new album “Wrapped Renaissance” took its cue from two pillars of groove metal genre, Machine Head’s first two albums “Burn My Eyes” and “The More Things Change”, but this influence just remained a starting point, from which DOSGAMOS developed its own sound, more directed to unexpected changes of tempo and rhythms in order to keep the tension high. Merging these elements with psychotic vocals reminiscent of Korn and Slipknot, DOSGAMOS delivers a suffocating atmosphere to criticize the uncontrolled exploitation of the environment and the oppression of our existences.
“Wrapped Renaissance” was recorded, mixed, and mastered at Audiocore Studio, while drums were recorded at RecLab Studio. The artwork is by BlacKD Studio.
