AGARWAEN Sign With Over The Border Records; New Album Coming in 2026

OVER THE BORDER RECORDS is proud to announce the signing of AGARWAEN, a Finnish band with an eclectic approach to metal music. Their genre, named Asylum Metal, blends metal with horror cinema, delivering theatrical shows with actors, scripts, and immersive staging. Their sound mixes symphonies and spoken vocals with elements taken from black, heavy and melodic death metal, offering a unique visual and sonic experience.
AGARWAEN released their acclaimed debut “Dottore I” in 2019, with the contribution of session musicians such as Mika Lumijärvi (drums & synths, Voidfallen) and Edward Torchia (vocals, Torchia). The album was met with positive reviews and was even chosen as Album of the Year by the American metal station Metal Nation. In 2023 the band released ”Channel: Lunacy”, recorded and produced by Teemu Aalto (Insomnium, Omnium Gatherum). AGARWAEN then hit the road heavily in Finland, toured in Europe in 2024 and played at TUSKA festival the same year. In 2025, they returned to the studio to record the new album, slated for release this year.
The band has stated: “We are genuinely honoured by Over The Border Records’ trust in us and thrilled to build this next chapter together. Our new album is a continuation of everything we started with the “Channel: Lunacy” LP, but darker, crazier, and more cinematic - expanding our storytelling with this new full-length concept album. Musically, “it is one of the most refreshing and bold creations for a long time”, a sentiment shared by our Grammy- and Emma-award-winning production team throughout the process.”
