French black metal force DARK PLAGUE is proud to announce that their new album “Masquerade” will be released on the 7^th of August via Fetzner Death Records.

Composed of 8 tracks for over 40 minutes of musical experience, “Masquerade” is available as digipak, cassette, and digital.

“Masquerade” explores social hypocrisy and the silent violence of false pretenses. This daily mechanism forcing us to wear a face that is not our own, to shape our words, our gestures, our desires in order to avoid punishment, contempt, and exclusion.

But the mask is also one of concealment: the one we wear to better deceive, hidden beneath the trappings of virtue. Lurking in the depths, our instinct takes shelter there in silence. Because the world is a masquerade, this is our Masquerade.

DARK PLAGUE embodies Black Metal in its most aggressive and authentic form, forging a visceral sound where raw violence collides with razor-sharp melodies. DARK PLAGUE’s compositions blend powerful melodies with devastating rhythms, where every chord and every burst of speed reflects uncompromising intensity. Behind the kit, Kévin Paradis delivers a surgical performance, a rhythmic onslaught that drives each track forward with cutting precision. The hateful, raw and immersive vocals complete the band’s signature style: a brutal yet melodic black metal, both savage and meticulously crafted.

DARK PLAGUE emerged from Lille in 2004 with a clear mission: to deliver intense, brutal and melodic Black Metal. The band has developed a distinctive sound shaped by sharp riffs, relentless rhythms, and a dark atmosphere where tension never fades. Over the course of five albums, DARK PLAGUE has forged a sound that combines violence and depth, tradition and evolution. With five full-length releases, the band has refined and modernized its style while remaining faithful to the black flame that continues to drive it.
