Turin-based progressive melodic death metal band HEXABROT is excited to announce that their new album “Self-Similarity” will be released on the 9th of October via Ænima Recordings.

The new album has been anticipated from the single “Loss of Perspective,” and, previously, from the videos for “Rose’s Chant” and “Signs”:

Drawing heavily from the band members' own lived experiences, “Self-Similarity” weaves a rich, emotional tapestry that unfolds within the isolated struggles of the individual, only to expand outward into a universal exploration of how experience shapes our identity.

“Self-Similarity” serves as a powerful testament to the collective human experience — capturing both the inherent pains and the transcendent beauty of being alive, alone and together. The title draws, much like the band name, from mathematics: self-similarity is the main characteristic of fractals, whose never ending geometric shapes repeat themselves over and over, much like humanity’s inevitable endeavors.

HEXABROT is proud to introduce the artwork, handpainted by watercolor artist Lucia Donelli. In a geometrical composition inspired by the aptly homonymous “Self-Similar” installation by Jim Denevan, the figure at the center is investigating the 10 cone-shaped objects that surround him, in a watery cosmic liminal space.
