“Dies Irae” is accompanied by a lyric video – watch it here:
Musically, it blends driving guitar riffs, blasting drums, bold melodic lines delivered by Ukrainian folk instrument Kobza and dynamic vocals. Lyrically, it moves between English and Ukrainian, portraying resilience, defiance, and unity in the face of overwhelming odds. APOLINARA comments: "I took the liturgical “Dies Irae” motif and reimagined the holy wrath’s nature. The song flips the iconic “Day of Wrath” topic - turning death into an adversary we stand up to rather than fear. United We Stand. Ukrainians have shown to the whole world the exceptional power of unity.”
With its fusion of dramatic orchestral energy, dark textures, and anthemic hooks, “Dies Irae” is poised to resonate strongly with fans of symphonic, epic or folk metal, and emotionally charged storytelling. It’s a standout release built for playlists that celebrate intensity, empowerment, and mythic-scale sound.
“Dies Irae” marks the new era of APOLINARA, the first single of the second album that is scheduled for 2026.
The song was produced, mixed and mastered by Nikolas Quemtri at NRQ’s Studio.
