“Der Letzte Hort” translates to “the last refuge” and is the second single from „Drangsal.“ A place you keep something safe, or flee to when there’s nowhere else. The title asks what happens when that place is the last one left. What people hold onto when everything around them has already gone, and whether that’s shelter or just the final thing standing.

NOCTURNIS upcoming album “Drangsal” deals with the machinery of witch persecution – the accusation, the trial, the fire, and everything that keeps working long after the ashes have cooled. From the opening "Liturgie" to the nine-minute title-track, the album follows that arc without offering an exit.

NOCTURNIS is a five-piece black metal band from the Black Forest region of southern Germany, known for combining atmospheric intensity with historically informed concept albums. Formed in 2019, the band first gained underground attention with their debut EP “Aporia” (2020) and their acclaimed first full-length “Unsegen” (2022), which earned favorable reviews across the metal press. Live, NOCTURNIS have built their reputation through supporting roles for established acts including Suffocation, Thron, Kanonenfieber, Grima and Agathodaimon. With their new album “Drangsal” they continue their trajectory - blending historical subject matter, black metal and a clear aesthetic vision into a unified work, produced internally by guitarist Vincent Padrutt with mixing and mastering by Nikita Kamprad (Der Weg Einer Freiheit).
