Budapest’s Atmospheric Black Metal Project MORTGRIM Releases New Album “Evangelium Luciferianum” on October 31st via Fetzner Death Records; Watch “Majesty of The Morning Star” Lyric Video!
Hungarian atmospheric black metal solo project MORTGRIM has announced that their new album “Evangelium Luciferianum” will be released as digipak and tape on October 31st via Fetzner Death Records.

The pairing of Evangelium and Luciferianum is an oxymoron in itself. MORTGRIM’s upcoming album is an alternative codex of forbidden wisdom, where classical occultism, Gnostic Luciferian thought, and darker, more destructive themes intertwine to convey a deeper message.
Rather than being merely a collection of angry songs, the record can be interpreted as a theological and philosophical work: a journey from the glory of the Light-Bringer, through rebellion, to magical fulfillment. It explores the downfall of religious dogmas and the collapse of human hubris.
MORTGRIM is a one-man project founded by Máté Nagy in 2025. It was created with the intention of blending the raw intensity of black metal with atmospheric and doom metal influences, resulting in a deeply personal and spiritual musical journey.
Alongside cold tremolo-picked riffs and crushing mid-tempo passages, the lyrics explore spiritual, philosophical, and occult themes, creating a dark and immersive atmosphere.
In February 2026, MORTGRIM released its debut album, “Blasphemy,” a six-track record that guides the listener through a ritualistic descent into darkness. The album showcases the project's distinctive approach, combining bleak atmospheres with uncompromising black metal aggression.
“Darkness is not a destination, but a path.” This idea perhaps best encapsulates MORTGRIM's artistic vision: a solitary journey into the deepest and darkest realms of black metal.
